A WOMAN has spoken of her horror when a falling piece of tile hit her - and narrowly missed her little nieces.

Danielle Bracey, pictured, of Montague Road, Uxbridge, was in Uxbridge High Street outside WH Smith's when a 2ft section of tile fell from a pillar and glanced the back of her head and her right arm. She was pushing her two nieces, aged two and one, in a buggy.

TESCO has asked Hillingdon Council to release it from its obligation to provide a bus lane near one of its stores.

The company opened its superstore in Trout Road, Yiewsley in spring 2011 after a long and often acrimonious process. One of the conditions placed upon it by the council when it granted permission was to create a bus lane to reduce the impact on traffic and bus journey times in the area of Trout Road and High Street.
