THE details of 17 previous convictions Nathan Doherty had before he killed Frazer Bradshaw (pictured) were released to the Old Bailey today as sentencing was adjourned to June 24.

It has also emerged that Doherty, 20, was serving a suspended sentence for GBH when he punched Bradshaw so hard it caused the 33-year-old to fall and fracture his skull, which led to his death.

Doherty handed himself into police on January 6, following five days of uncertainty for Frazer Bradshaw's friends and family, following the attack on New Year's Day.

The attack took place outside the St James Pub in Cowley, Uxbridge, as Bradshaw was trying to break up a fight which had started in the pub and spilled outside.

Kate Wilkinson, prosecuting for the CPS, told how Frazer Bradshaw was standing with his arms outstretched, trying to separate the brawling groups, when Doherty, who had been drinking, took a running punch, hitting him on the cheek, causing him to fall instantly, hitting the back of his head on the pavement. He died four days later in hospital after suffering brain injuries.

The court heard how Doherty's previous criminal record began at the age of 14, being served with an ASBO at just 15.

He racked up numerous convictions for burglary, criminal damage, ABH, and GBH, but was never jailed.

In 2009 he was convicted of GBH, hitting a man with a glass bottle in a brawl outside a pub, and was given a 12 month jail sentence, suspended for two years.

If the sentence was not suspended, Doherty would not have been free to assault Bradshaw on New Year's Day.

An impact statement from Frazer's older brother Jason Bradshaw was read out, which said the family were serving a 'life sentence' and would never recover. It added that the family would approach each New Year, the anniversary of the death, with dread.

In a letter to the court, Doherty, who is of no fixed address, but was based in West Drayton, said: "I am truly sorry for the harm my actions have caused."

Judge Peter Beaumont QC described Doherty's criminal record as 'worrying for a 20-year-old'.

He adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared, for Thursday June 24.

Mr Bradshaw (pictured), 33, died in hospital on January 4 after being attacked at a New Year's Eve party at St James Pub in High Street, Cowley, when he attempted to break up a fight.

His family have described him as "a gentle giant and a hero who was unique, funny, clever, and a talented person who was very generous and caring."

Mr Bradshaw, who grew up in Hayes but moved to Rickmansworth six years ago, is survived by his mother and father, two older brothers, two twin sisters, two nephews and a niece.
