Uxbridge woman to jump out of a plane for Sport Relief
A WOMAN from Uxbridge is aiming to complete a daring skydive to raise money for Sport Relief.
Leila Dukes, 25, who works for Promote PR, is hoping to raise £10,000 along with five of her work colleagues.
She is joined by Jo Whitaker (28) from Reading, Siobhan Monaghan (20) from Marlow, Lisa Warden (25) from Wallingford and Jo Sutton (25) from Wokingham, and Sue Anstiss (44) from Windsor.
They are aiming to raise £1 for every foot they fall from the sky.
Leila, who is pictured far right, said: "At the moment we are quite far off our £10,000 target so anything that would encourage people to donate to the worthy cause ahead of the jump day would be fantastic."
The company is paying for all the Sky Dives, so they know every penny they raise will be spent by Sport Relief to help disadvantaged people turn their lives around, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
The funds they raise might help build houses for families in Africa or support isolated older people in the UK meet others so they feel less lonely. A proportion of the money raised this year will also go to help those affected by the recent earthquake in Haiti.
The jump will take place on Mother's Day in Marlow on March 14.
