base-bar-.jpgBASE Bar is to have its drinks license temporarily suspended and entry restricted to over 23s.

Groups of over five men over have also been restricted from entering.

A meeting was held last Monday to discuss the future of the bar in Uxbridge High Street after police requested a review, claiming trouble emanating from the nightclub was a drain on their resources.

The bar is to have its license suspended for 14 days in two weeks time, unless they decide to appeal the decision.

After the suspension period, the bar will be able to serve drinks until 1.30am on weekends, closing at 2am.

The licensee has also been recommended to join the Uxbridge Business Against Crime initiative.

The council's licensing committee, who drew up the list of conditions, have also requested the current set of door supervisors be replaced by a new team of accredited supervisors.

Street wardens wearing high visibility jackets have also been asked to supplement the five door supervisors, to monitor the immediate vicinity outside the premises to encourage a swift and orderly dispersal of drinkers leaving the bar.

We'd like to hear from you.
