Hillingdon youth awarded for their achievements
YOUNG people from Hillingdon were rewarded for their accomplishments at the annual Young Achievers Awards, organised by the council's youth and connexions service.
Young people aged between 11 and 25 were presented with awards at a special ceremony, held at the Park Inn Hotel near Heathrow Airport last week.
Each year, awards are given for cycling, swimming, educational and sporting achievements, as well as to groups of young people who have volunteered their time to youth projects.
There are also awards for participants of this year's Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
Nominees live or attend schools in the borough and were put forward by organisations they work with and via Hillingdon's Education and Children's services.
Tom Murphy, head of youth and Connexions said: "The Young Achievers awards is always a fantastic event and a great way for the council to recognise the achievements of young people across the borough.
"In Hillingdon, we are extremely proud of the hard work that young people put in to reach their goals and this event is all about celebrating with them and enjoying their successes."
