France qualify- but was it worth it Thierry?

dancombs-blog.jpg'Win at all costs' was the mantra adopted by France last night, with Henry's handball sending France to South Africa next summer.

But now, his reputation is in tatters, there is one thing worse than a dirty player, and that is a cheat.

Sadly for Henry, the hundreds of goals he has scored throughout his career, may count for nothing, as like Maradona, he may be remembered for last night's foul play, time will tell how history judges him.

Maradona is remembered as much for his cheating as his wonderful goals, and Henry, a waning talent nowadays, has done himself an injustice, with what looked like a double handball to knock Ireland out.

With the money in football nowadays, some may say that it was worth it, he took one for the team.

But lets not forget, this was about more than money, it was national pride, the pinnacle of a players career.

Next Summer it will all be swept under the carpet, France will be in South Africa, and Ireland will be watching on television.

But before everybody queues up to totally lambast Henry- ask yourself this question- What would you do to ensure England qualify for the World Cup?

How far would you go?

One word of advice though Thierry- probably best to cancel that trip to Dublin you had planned...

We'd like to hear from you.
