New Poundland store for Woolworth's site

Posted by Dan Coombs on Sep 22, 09 11:49 AM in Useful Info

A NEW Poundland store will open up on Uxbridge High Street, in place of the former Woolworth's site.

It will be the second Poundland store in Uxbridge, as there is already one in the Pavilions, and it is set to open in October.

The Woolworth's site has been left vacant since last December when it closed, although workers were seen preparing the store for changes on Monday.

The new store will provide around 30 new jobs, and the opening will be marked by an appearance from a television star and a family fun day.

David Coxon, Poundland's trading director, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to be opening a store in Uxbridge, creating jobs and great shopping opportunities.

"I'm sure the savvy shoppers in the area will be delighted by the amazing value that Poundland offers."

What do you think of the new Poundland? Are you glad it is replacing the Woolworth's site or would you rather something else?
