A PARADE, drumming, and the release of two doves took place in Uxbridge to mark the end of the London Week of Peace.

Over 200 people joined the procession, which assembled outside Uxbridge Police Station at 2pm on Sunday.

It was led by Police Superintendent Iestyn Prosser, Deputy Mayor of Hillingdon Councillor David Yarrow, representatives of local faith groups and other community leaders.

The programme included speeches from the Deputy Mayor, Police Superintendent and faith leaders.

There were performances by street dance group 'Futunity' and dances from Swakeleys School and Yeading Junior School.

Over 400 people gathered to see the celebrations, which was marked at the end by releasing two doves as a sign of peace.

Superintendent Iestyn Prosser said: "The celebrations, which marked the end of London Week of Peace, were very successful and enjoyed by all. It is important that we all reflect on this initiative and look for ways of promoting peace in our communities at all times."
