The Chimes scoops three international awards

THE Chimes Shopping Centre are celebrating after winning all three awards out of the three nominations it received at the prestigious International Council of Shopping Centres' (ICSC) Solal Marketing Awards, held in Vienna.

Held each year, the ICSC Solal Awards recognise best practice and outstanding marketing by shopping centres across Europe and are seen as a benchmark of quality throughout the shopping centre industry.

The centre received the 'Special Distinction for Innovation' for its 'Join the Fashion Journey' campaign which saw Hector, a branded VW campervan tour through key locations in Middlesex to give shoppers style tips and the chance to win prizes.

The campaign was recognised for its creativity and fashion knowledge to drive footfall for The Chimes' retailers, which resulted in a 6.97 per cent rise in footfall year on year for the month of the promotion.

The first 'Community Relations' Award that The Chimes received noted the centre's investment to increase awareness of cultural diversity within Uxbridge and its surrounding area with the Global Kids scheme.

The second was for all the activity during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2008.

These awards come in the wake of the recent successes at other industry award ceremonies; the Purple Apple Awards, Property Marketing Awards and MAXI awards, which include wins for The Chimes' marketing campaigns as well as the prestigious accolade of being named 'Best In-house Marketing Team'.

Michelle Moffitt said: "I am so proud of what The Chimes has managed to achieve and to be recognised with three awards is a real achievement! We aim to continue all our work to stimulate shoppers with fun campaigns and raise awareness of issues that are important to our community.

"With the recent success of Big Boys Toys and the continuation of the Global Kids scheme, plus many more activities lined up, we have a very exciting time ahead so watch this space."

We'd like to hear from you.
