David's top building award

AN APPRENTICE from Uxbridge has beaten off thousands of young hopefuls to win gold at Britain's biggest skills competition, Skillbuild.

David Hibbert, who is employed at Kovara Projects Ltd in Reading, competed in the Roof Sheeting and
Cladding category at the competition in Birmingham.

He said: "I was really nervous, my heart was pounding and I didn't think we'd win as I didn't feel confident. I think the win will definitely improve my confidence, plus it keeps the boss happy!"
